Sephora Spring Bonus Picks (Friday Face Fix)

Good morning, ladies! Don’t you just love a good weekend sale? If you do, you’re lucky because everyone officially has access to the Sephora Spring Bonus Sale! To participate (and receive your discount!) you have to be a beauty insider, which you do by providing your e-mail address in store or online!  Aside from access to the 2 sales Sephora has yearly, you get early access to new products (depending on your status), birthday gifts, AND (this is probably my favorite feature) Sephora will send you reminder e-mails when your make-up products are running low.  For me, it was spot on and I was v impressed.

This sale is so awesome because it gives us an opportunity to try more expensive products at a discounted price. I’m definitely planning on stocking up on my more expensive products and two of my foundations this time around (because OF COURSE they ran out at the same time!) , but I rather do it now than pay full price later.  I have to remind y’all that we have the same skin our entire lives, we have to think about the things we put on it! Sometimes, it’s a good idea to invest in quality products!

While I don’t consider myself a beauty guru, I do consider myself somewhat knowledgeable when it comes to a classic make-up look.  Y’all know I am skincare obsessed, which is why that will play a huge role in this post! You’ll even get to pick the item I splurge on at the very end of the post! Grab some coffee and sit tight because this one’s going to be fun!

Beauty & Skincare

1. Protini Polypeptide Cream– This name is a mouthful, but when I had a sample of this in  The Littles Set, I literally smothered every part of myself from forehead to chest in this cream.  Don’t get me wrong, I still love my old favorite, but there was definitely something special about this cream. If you’re in the market to try a new moisturizer, the Sephora spring bonus sale is the time to experiment! Give this a shot!

2. Watermelon Glow Sleeping Mask– I mentioned that I found a dupe for this mask on my first Face Fix Friday post a while back. While, that one is so much more affordable, I recommend you try this one, if not for the gloriously fruity smell, for the smooth glowing skin you’ll wake up with in the morning. I also love the mini.

3.Shaba Complex Firming Eye Serum– This is the first of three under eye creams on my list today, but its the only one that you can put on your lids as well as your under eyes. Need I say more?

4. Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado– This is definitely one of my OG, skincare products. I was Kiehl’s obsessed in college and graduate school and I loved how this eye cream made my under eyes feel nice and plump!

5. Dr. Brandt No More Baggage De-Puffing Eye Gel– I snagged this baby in my Fab Fit Fun Box (that I shot to show y’all and never sat down to write the post, oops.) and am wearing it right now as I write this post.  I feel like my under eyes are instantly tighter when I put this on and I usually wear this on days I have less than 5 hours of sleep (Like today, haha!)

6. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask– My lips are ALWAYS chapped! This provides instant relief, has a sweet, fruity small and it is husband approved! A little goes a long way, and if I forget to wear at night I usually wear while I apply my make-up!

Lippies

Each of these lipsticks is a STAPLE to any girl’s lipstick stash.  Sadly, I don’t have a favorite red, but maybe I’ll be picking one up during the sale! I have a nude, a pinky nude moisturizing lipstick, a rosy pink (that I felt looked gray at first, and almost returned! I waited and it’s now my favorite lipstick!), and a berry. I love each of these for different reasons, but the point I want to get across here is that putting some color on your lips (something that is different than your skin tone, the RIGHT nude is important!) makes all the difference!

Berry-Anastasia Liquid Lipstick in Catnip

Nude- Tarteist Quick Dry Matte Lip Paint in Salty

Rosy Pink (my go-to lipstick!)- Stila Liquid Lipsticks in Baci

Moisturizing Lipstick- Charlotte Tilbury in Pillow Talk

Make-up

  1. Laura Mercier Transluscent Loose Powder– Now, this is a staple with most because they “bake” and “set” and do a lot of other cool things. I really just love how this product helps keep my t-zone shine at bay without totally ruining the effect of my highlight.
  2. NARS Blush in Orgasm– I remember the first time my best friend shared her orgasm blush with me in high school (which I now know is AWFUL!! But, we were young!) and I giggled at the name, but practically winced when I saw how beautiful it looked on my skin! She moved on to Deep Throat (more peachy) eventually, but I stayed obsessed with this cult classic. You probably already wear this, but if you don’t, every girl deserves to try it at least once! The Sephora Spring Bonus Sale is the perfect time to do it!
  3. Naked 3 Palette– Another oldie but goodie! This palette is great for sweet eye shadow looks and every day glam! If you’re not very skilled with a make-up brush, this is a good palette to get familiar and comfortable with!
  4. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette– I originally wanted the limited edition white chocolate chip palette Too Face released for Christmas a few years ago (still want, still won’t ever have), but got this full-sized (not complaining, I obviously won here) palette as a gift. I am still using it non-stop! This palette has some bright colors, but I really love exploring the more earthy tones in the fall.
  5. Clinique Acne Solutions Foundation– Hi, My name is Alyssa Trejo and I still struggle with breakouts at 27! Sometimes it’s hormonal, sometimes it’s food allergies, but every time. I cover up with this to help my breakouts heal even faster. The coverage is great, and I feel like I’m getting to start with a blank canvas when I put this on!
  6. Estee Lauder Double Wear Fondation– The double wear foundation is an AWARD WINNER! When I know that I’ll be wearing my make-up long term, this is the foundation I go with! It is seriously full coverage, but doesn’t make my skin feel like it’s suffocating. I’m a big fan of light foundations, tinted moisturizers and CC Creams, so the fact that I can stand this foundation really confirms how light it truly is! If you’re starting a new job (after graduation, maybe for my college grads!) this is a great product to help you look/feel very professional on your first day of work!
  7. IT Cosmetics Illuminating CC Cream– My HOLY GRAIL product! Honestly, this is the key to my 5-minute make-up routine (that I SWEAR I am shooting for y’all!) Because it’s illuminating, it removes the need for highlight. When I have this on, I also feel like I don’t need bronzer because my look is “glowy” and “youthful.” Come June, I will be a beach babe at South Padre Island and this is the only make-up I take with me. The SPF (while not ENOUGH for a day out in the sun) is also an added bonus for making sure I avoid skin damage.
  8. Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara– Now, we all know of my Sex and the City OBSESSION. So when Lancome released this mascara about two year ago, I flipped at the chance to get a sample! A “Mr. BIG” mascara, ugh, I die. I was so scared I wouldn’t like the mascara as much as I liked the name, I feel my expectations were so low that I was BLOWN AWAY with how stunning my lashes looked with this mascara. So much so that I have stopped curling my eyelashes recently and feel like this mascara makes my lashes look EVEN better! It’s good and I even linked the cute V-day packaging that is somehow still available for y’all to try!

Hair Tools

  1. T3 Singlepass 1.25 in Curling Iron– I am a hair tool snob, not by choice but by necessity. My hair type is thick, coarse, frizzy, and I’ve got a few curls here and there. I had the same curling iron for almost 10 years before I realized it wasn’t doing what I need it to. After a brief and difficult experience with another curling iron for 2 years, I bought a T3 when it went on sale and I’m never looking back! This curling iron clamps my hair SO tight (no slipping or crimping!) and leaves me with a long lasting curl! This is my most-used hair tool!
  2. T3 Body Waver– For a while now, I’ve been wanting something a little more relaxed for day-to-day that isn’t full on big curls. I have a lot of hair, so curls make me look like I’m in the running for Miss Texas sometimes (not a bad thing, haha. just not ALWAYS my vibe). I actually found an older version of this Body waver at TJMaxx and took my chances when I bought it. It was exactly what I was looking for! In the photo posted above, this was the hair tool I used, for reference.
  3. Living Proof Dry Shampoo– Since I’ve been heat styling my hair more often, I’ve tried to elongate the life span of my curl and imitation blow out (via body waver). I love this Dry Shampoo because it’s not too perfume-y and this is one of the only Dry Shampoos that actually cleans and absorbs the oils in your hair. I CANNOT stand the feeling (and the smell?) of 2nd or 3rd day hair, and this one has even me fooled!

New to Me (PLEASE VOTE!)

Now, the moment you’ve all been waiting for (okay, I’ve been waiting for it!) I need y’all’s help to pick out something for me to buy from the bonus sale, coincidentally they’re all face masks. Skincare obsessed, I tell ya. I’ll link them here and tell you a little about them and if y’all could vote in the comments, I would love you forever!

1.Summer Fridays’ Jet Lag Mask– This mask has been popular with bloggers for the past year.  It’s supposedly a good pick-me-up after traveling or when your skin is just blah. I’ve linked the travel size one, which is a bit of a cheat because I may get the travel size AND another product. What do you think?

2. Lancer The Method Polish: Blemish Control– This is something I’ve heard good things about and it is actually an exfoliator (which you can totally use as a mask IMHO because you can do whatever you want) and part of a 3-step method. I’m forever looking for a secret tool to clear up a break out…COULD THIS BE IT?!

3. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial– This mask is touted as a “facial-in-a-bottle” by so many beauty vloggers, bloggers, etc. I haven’t yet made the $80 commitment to purchase this  large bottle of a single product (I was all for it with the littles!), but like I said earlier this is the time to give things a shot!

If you are still reading this, my hat goes off to you! This was a whole lot of information, so if you skipped to the end I recommend you read the sections that interest you the most! There’s a lot of great products out there that you deserve to try. I’ve never gotten a facial in my life, because I’m always on the go, so I try and make my skincare routine as decadent as possible to avoid the (ACTUAL) need. Also, good make-up and the RIGHT lipsticks can really pull a whole look together. I hope y’all find something you’re looking for and PLEASE help me make my Sephora spring bonus sale pick by commenting below or on my instagram! Y’all are the best! Have a wonderful weekend!
