Girls’ Weekend at the Winery

Hello, lovelies! 2019 is officially my year of travel. Yes, I know I’ve only traveled twice this year, but that’s twice in four weekends! I am a travel goddess. haha! All jokes aside, I am very proud of myself for saying, “yes” to multiple travel opportunities this year.  I have severe FOMO (fear of missing out) and struggle with commitments outside of my normal schedule.  I know, normal people get FOMO about not being able to attend fun activities or travel, but I’m a homebody and a HUGE family person, so I get FOMO about not sipping coffee in bed with a book on Saturday mornings and not attending family birthday parties or barbecues.  That’s just me (insert shrugging emoji).

Two weekends ago, a small group of my favorite people (the 70th line of Rangerettes) decided to meet up in Kerrville, Texas for a girls’ weekend in Central Texas.  We all originally met and went to junior college in a TINY East Texas town all for the privilege of wearing THE beautiful Red, White, and Blue Uniform donned only by the World Famous Kilgore College R(aaaaaaa)angerettes.  With such a special tie holding us together for so many years now (10, y’all! 10!), and so many miles between us all, the weekend served as a much needed catch-up session!

We stayed at a cute Airbnb that had one room that was big enough for all of us to stay in and talk for hours! It was like living in our dorm all over again! We caught up Friday evening, and on Saturday we made our way to Becker Vineyards.  Fortunately, we had a vehicle big enough to carry us all and someone who volunteered to be our designated driver.  Uber of course is also an option and I highly recommend looking at some wine tour options: (1): Heart of Texas Wine Tours; (2): Texas Wine Tours. I had never been to a vineyard before, and I will say that this vineyard made my first experience pretty hard to beat.  We paid $20 for 6 (generous) samples.  We spent a good amount of time here, taking pictures, talking, and meeting puppers (oh, was that just me?), then made our way to 4.0 Cellars.

At 4.0, a few girls decided to purchase bottles of wine and the rest of us bought the yummiest food from the food truck “Conchita’s.” I highly recommend the pulled pork fries! So tasty! The chicken avocado egg rolls and quesadillas are also good picks!

Now, for a few outfit details.  Everything is linked above, but I have to talk about this blouse for a second. I wore this blouse to work the other day, and got a compliment in every room I walked into!  One of the teachers even asked for the link to the outfit on the spot!  It’s very cozy and an AMAZON find!  From the elbow patches to the slimming buttons on the side, it’s definitely special.

I am so lucky to know each and every one of these girls. Besties, roommates, bridesmaids, tryout group members, the memories are endless and there are so many more to be made!  I hope y’all enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed getting to see my girls for the weekend! Happy Tuesday!
