Okay, so- I have about 3 drafts on this blog that I haven’t posted because extra time is non-existent at this point in my life. I’m hoping, I’ll be able to get this content together this summer I’m out of work and baby girl is a little bit older, but until then- I’m sorry if you’ve been waiting for something, specifically baby content!
On to today’s post! The Sephora spring sale is one of my favorite times to stock up on my usual must-haves. I’ll be posting a REEL later to go with this post because I know we have a lot of visual learners here- myself included!
If you’ve followed me anywhere for a while, you know that I struggle with sensitive skin, rosacea, and adult hormonal acne- usually cystic (FUN!). This routine actually got requested right before I had baby, but since she came so early, I never got a chance to film/post. After giving birth, my skin PURGED. I broke out all over my body and it really made me so sad. Luckily, with this consistent skincare routine, my skin bounced back. This routine was what I used all throughout pregnancy-head to this post to see how I determined this and (of course) talk to your doc about that!
I place a huge focus on the evening skincare routine because in the morning, I basically wash off my evening skincare and add daytime moisturizer. Cleaning off the day is definitely the most important part of my routine!
Step 1: Cleanse
I do a double cleanse. I think I’ve talked about it before, but can’t remember where, so I’ll explain again. When you double cleanse you use two cleansers. The first (I use this oatmeal cleanser)is usually a balm that removes/melts make up off. This allows the make up to break down more easily when you use a more foamy cleanser. The foaming cleanser (OMG, Tula is at Sephora!) I use has been a staple for years. I love that it really removes everything on my face and doesn’t leave my face feeling TIGHT like so many other cleansers.
Step 2: Treat
I actually stumbled upon this product at TJMAXX and I am so grateful I did. My husband and I both struggle with acne prone skin at times and he loves it too. I only apply the Kate Sommerville Acne Cleanser when and where I have an active breakout. It’s important that you don’t overmedicate your skin because then the products will not work correctly when you actually need help. I use this at least 2-3 times a week for maintenance.
Step 3: Exfoliate
I technically think you should exfoliate before you cleanse BUUUTTTT that’s just not how I’ve been doing it because I love my double cleanse system. This is technically an exfoliating cleanser, so I guess it’s NBD. I feel like this helps so much with sloughing off dead skin and lightening acne scars.
Step 4: Serums & Moisturize
This is just one big step that you should truly enjoy. Yes, sometimes I use a jade roller after this, but I don’t think it has too much to do with how my skin reacts and more so how my skin holds water. I love the Laneige products, which is why they make up 75% of my moisturizing routine! The Kiehl’s serum is also my ride or die. It’s seriously an overnight miracle!
I really try to make my routine as short as possible because the more work I put into it, the less likely it is going to get done. All of these items are available and on sale RIGHT NOW at Sephora! Get them while you can! If you’re looking for more beauty buys you can check out my Sephora sale posts from previous sales.
