Welcome back, friends! I inadvertently took a week off from the blog on my last work week with kiddos. I have definitely lost some motivation to get dressed these past two weeks, so this post is actually about a look that I wore in the middle of quarantine. I was snapping a quick #ootd pic and actually got a surge of inspiration for a blog post showing y’all three ways to wear a slip dress!
I bought this slip dress from Target at the beginning of quarantine time. It was on sale for under $20, so I was pretty sold from the moment I saw the gorgeous green color of the dress. It comes in a ton of colors and leopard print, if that’s also your style! Silk dresses have been having a moment for a while and the summer is the perfect time to embrace this trend since we know the heat is about to get very intense. 
Even though the dog days of summer are coming, we’re probably going to be spending a lot of time in the good ol’ air condition. While you can use a denim jacket or a pearl one (for a little fun detail), a cardigan or fun blazer would also work well! This is the actual way I styled this dress when I wore it out. An outfit worth repeating! 
The next way that you can rock a slip dress is actually, by itself! Because I’m broad shouldered, I don’t like wearing strappy pieces. To help me feel a little less bare on top, I wore one of my favorite amazon strappy bralettes (the kind that have multiple straps) to distract from my shoulders. 
This last look is actually pretty similar to the first outfit, but it’s a little more elevated. Honestly, I would probably wear this with little black heels for a girls’ night out (remember those?). If you think it’s hard to rock this look, it’s actually not. It’s also gives you the opportunity to slip the jacket on and off if you get hot or cold. I’m a big fan of wearing my jackets like this with fancier looks.
