So, I asked a few weeks ago if y’all would be interested in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale coverage, but I KNOW because we do not have a Nordstrom local to us, some of you may be asking, “what’s the big deal?” Well, I, my friends am here to give you a basic run down of WHAT you can expect from the NSale. It can be a little confusing because we don’t have a nordstrom in our area, but I love this sale because it features ALL NEW items at a discounted price. Of course, there are some old favorites: a similar version of my jeans are a part of the sale as are some key home pieces that are splurge worthy (more on that, later!). However, the majority of the pieces on sale are to help us prepare for the colder months ahead.
I know what you’re thinking, “it doesn’t get cold in the valley.” This is why I feel like my coverage of the sale will be a little different than most bloggers. The Valley is special. If you’re from an area that is described as WARM or TROPICAL year round, this post may also be for you!
I’m going to cover the basics (The access dates. There are levels and different access times.) and hopefully ease you into the sale. Then I’ll cover my FAVORITE PICKS!
The tiers: As a member of The Nordy Club, you build up points based on the amount you spend. The new tiers are Icon, Ambassadors, Influencers, and Insiders. Icons and Ambassadors began shopping earlier this week from July 9-11 and Credit/Debit card holders shop early access from July 12-18.
While Nordstrom no longer offers the debit card, you are still able to apply for the credit card. Benefits of holding the card are double points days and earning 3 points per dollar spent with the credit card. As with any credit card, it is important to not spend above your means. I have saved for this sale for a few months now and had “Nordstrom Notes” to cash in! Nordstrom Notes are earned with the points you accumulate from purchases. You can $5, $10, $15 notes to use as you please, or let your points accumulate to earn a $20 note. IF you choose to apply for the CC and get approved that day, you are able to use your CC to shop early access! Of course, please make sure this is a financially responsible decision you’ve made after considerable thought.
If you have any other questions about the tiers, getting a credit card, or just joining The Nordy Club (I recommend you do this! If you’re gonna shop, at least get rewarded for it!), please feel free to DM me on instagram or leave a comment below! I love the graphic above to clarify any confusion about the length of the sale. With that being said, prices do go up August 5th, so don’t let something you love pass you by!
NOW FOR THE FUN PART!
These are the products that I was the most excited about, purchased during the sale, or already own! From here on out you can just click the picture to shop the item! Item sold out? Don’t stress, as people return items, (and they will) they’ll come back into stock. Just keep checking.
Treasure & Bond Panama Hat– CONFESSION: I didn’t get this item. I’m pretty sad about it because the price is great. Right now, it’s available in black, but I’m not as keen on that one. I’ve seen a few bloggers try this one on, and love the style and size of the hat. I’ll be checking for re-stocks of this beauty!
Kendra Scott Hoops (NEW!) & KS Emmie Drop Earrings– I didn’t pick up either of these items today, but come pay day I’m hoping to! I LOVE Kendra’s take on the hoop earring for her fall collection and the Emma earrings are such a classic style. I also don’t have black earrings, so I NEED THEM, right?
Erika Ray-Ban Sunnies– These are exactly like the gold sunglasses I wear EVERY DAY OF MY LIFE. I love them because they’re glam and are big enough to hide my eyebrows. (That’s a thing for me!) The version on sale are a fun tortoise shell version, which will match everything. Great find!
OMG SHOES!
I purchased the BP Gretta Sandal in both yellow and the nude color. I have intentions to return one, but I may or may not. It seems like a solid shoe for $50! I intend to wear it for work, so that counts for a lot!
I also purchased Vince Camuto Gigietta in the lighter snakeskin color. I intended to buy it in the lighter beige color, but fell in love with the snakeskin. My sister also requested a pair of these and she’s not a big sale chaser like me, haha. When a shoe’s good, it’s good.
I did not buy the Steve Madden Snakeskin loafers YET. Y’all know I’ve had my eye on this style for a few months now and while they’d be useful for work, I feel it wiser spending on heels during this sale. I do love that these have studs though and they’re at the top of my favorites list.
Last, but not least is the Marc Fisher Vega Sandals. Y’all love last year’s version of the sandal. Unfortunately, by the time I was able to easily link my clothes from my blog posts and instagram photos with liketoknow.it they were all sold out! I loved wearing these heels to work. They’re super comfortable and give me all the leg length! I HIGHLY recommend these!
Moto Jacket– During last year’s sale, I hesitated to get a (faux) leather jacket because our weather doesn’t really call for it, but come winter, I was SO glad I did. I used my jacket all winter and for the first time my life, I didn’t feel frumpy when layering! I would love to purchase this jacket in another color! I recommend sizing up one size for comfort.
Button Sleeve Turtleneck– File this under- Things I am questionable about. The color of this sweater is one of my favorite jewel tones. It’s gorgeous and I’ll do just about anything to get my hands on a clothing piece that has a unique feature. This one had great buttons going up and down the sleeves. It’s available in a pink color as well, if that’s more your vibe.
BP Lace Trim Camisole– Y’all. I forgot to buy this. I still can, but I think I’m going to wait. Why I chose this top? I’m into camisoles, as y’all know and love the lace detail on this one. Like, I said I’m into special details! This one might hope into my cart by the end of the day, if I’m being honest.
Zella Agility Bra– I love Zella’s athletic wear. It’s so high quality and affordable. This bra has the cutest cut outs on the back and the front. Just click the link! You’ll be excited!
Halogen Leopard Blazer– THIS BLAZER! It didn’t make my final cut, but I wanted it to so bad. Dressing things up with leopard is so fun and easy! I can wear this to work or for a fun GNO! Ugh. Maybe, one day.
Something Navy Leopard Cardigan– I did pick up this blazer. There is another great leopard cardigan available in a different color scheme. I loved that this one had buttons and can even look like a sweater dress. Can’t wait to wear with a another item on this list!
Tie Waist Top– I wasn’t originally going to purchase this top, but I know it will be great to have once the school year starts and will look great with a black blazer or cardigan in the colder months!
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lip Kit – This is the lipstick I generally use minus the gloss, which would be such a fun addition! I LOVE the lip liner with other lipsticks as well. If you’re looking for a new lipstick for the fall, I recommend you consider this one!
Halogen Tie Waist Pants– I got these in black for work. I really loved the pink color, but really tried to be practical.
SPANX Leather Leggings– I FINALLY GOT A PAIR! I am so so excited because I’ve wanted these for years and never took the plunge! The sale price on these is AMAZING! IF you’ve been thinking about it, the time is now!
Tom Ford Soleil Blanc Set– This is a recent discovery of mine. I smelled it the last time I went to Sephora and FELL IN LOVE with the scent. I would love to get this. I’m so bad at buying perfumes for myself, so maybe this one is one I treat myself to.
AH! That took a while!! There was just so much I wanted to share and still want to share with y’all in regard to this sale. In fact, if there are any requests you want to make: best of cardigans/sweaters; best of menswear; best of athletic wear; or best of work wear, LET ME KNOW! I had so much fun picking my favorites for y’all and love that I’m getting to introduce some of my valley girls to the sale! We deserve the good deals too! Have fun shopping, ladies!
