Your Favorites of 2019

I swear that 2020 has been on hyper speed since it started and I’m feeling v nostalgic for 2019 (the year that never ended). I know I’m not alone when I say that this weekend’s events have made me take a pause and really reflect on the blessing that our lives are. I don’t want to dwell too much on this because this is going to be a fun, happy post, but I can’t just pretend like it hasn’t been on my mind, on my feed, and in my conversations for the last 72 hours.  One of the reasons why I love my blog is that it makes things light. It keeps me light, and with all of the dark our would experiences, I need some light. Maybe you do too.AlyandtheValley_Favoritesof201954 Continue Reading“Your Favorites of 2019”

Fit Girl Status: Trying Trybe Cycle

If you don’t recall, I was trying out a series of fitness studios before the Christmas break. I tried an aerial class, a couple of cycling classes, and now, a few weeks later, I tried a mixed fitness studio (not really sure how to describe it any better than this)! I’ve always enjoyed trying out different work out classes, and have a tendency to hop around since the majority of these locations are more than 10 minutes from my home. Working out is not something that come easy to me, so a LONGER drive (10 minutes isn’t even that bad, I KNOW, but I’m just being honest) kind of discourages me. Regardless, I’ve had a blast trying out new places and know that y’all are interested in trying new spots too. Going to a new studio can be intimidating if you don’t know what to do, so I’m here to walk you through my first visits at new-to-me spots!

A little bit of this, A little bit of that

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve added something to my corner of the internet! There may have been times that I could’ve written something or could have shared a little more for y’all (I got my Lilly Pulitzer After Party Sale find in yesterday, but didn’t share), but I’ve been FLYING through life.  Work has been…well, work and I feel like I came home every day this week with a laundry list (literal and figurative) of things I wanted to accomplish.  There was no wine, there was not even a Bachelor viewing. It was A WEEK. A long week, but a good week!

Dinner and Drinks at Maison Stivalent

Can y’all believe that Friday is here?! This week flew by! I feel like the week started off so slow since I didn’t have to work on Monday and then it went back to 150 mph. This weekend, we’ll be celebrating my nieces’ and nephew’s birthday and I am hoping to finish up some organizing that I started over the break! I did a lot of downsizing! Something I also did over the break was try a new local restaurant: Maison Stivalent! I had been waiting so long to pay this spot a visit and I was not disappointed!
