I feel like a “Friday Five” is a common blog post topic for a reason. Even though I haven’t been able to consistently put together the in-depth blog posts telling y’all about ALL THE THINGS, posts like this allow me to keep you in the loop. I’m on-the-go so much lately. I mean, I’m not going anywhere, but I’m always on to the next thing. I’ve been trying really hard to focus on completing tasks (so hard for me) because I feel really fulfilled after. As much as I’d love to put these details on instagram posts or stories, creating Liketoknow.it posts for instagram or just for the app does take some time, so putting down on the blog seems like a quick and easy way to LIST things I’m into!
Can you believe that fall is actually here? I love pulling out all of my fall favorites after the first cold front, which is conveniently happening this week! We had a slight breeze last week and lower temps throughout this week so that confirms that fall is here! Aside from my favorites, I have even started discovering some new fall favorites that I’m loving and over-wearing (per usual). My favorites don’t stop there this time though! I’m also going to share some food favorites (which I’m sure you have an idea about)!
Fall Lippes
The biggest tell-tale signs of fall for me are long hair (don’t ask me why, but my hair is always long in the fall) and berry lips! I have used MAC Rebel (try the mini to save a buck AND sample a classic color!) for YEARS and still love how the purple/pink just screams “Fall” and makes my (tiny) teeth look pearly white! For the past few years, like everyone else, I’ve been loving matte liquid lipsticks, but have really been interested in finding budget versions of my favorite lipsticks. That’s why I tried the Maybelline Super Stay Ink Liquid Matte in Believer last year. Y’all, this whole line of Maybelline lipsticks are a serious BUDGET FIND! Their staying power is so good and it’s one of those that you have to remove with lip balm at the end of the day. I don’t know if that’s what you look for, but with my job, I’m way too bust to re-apply sometimes. I need my lipsticks todo all the work!
Jeans
Speaking of work- Beyoncé was right: “If you don’t jump to put jeans on, you don’t feel my pain.” I HATE buying pants. I just don’t fit into any real size right now. Sometimes a 10 is where I’m at, sometimes it’s busting open at the zipper and I’m hating my life. Sometimes that happens in a size 12. Sometimes my hips are thriving in a 14 and I look like I just stepped out of the 90s…and not in a good way. Anyway, lots of jeans trends are coming out: flared, mega-flared, crop flared, cropped, and straight. I bought my first pair of straight jeans during the NSale just because I kept obsessing over them. I haven’t stopped obsessing since I ripped them out of the box. They make me look so much slimmer (I have wider hips) in the hip area and still stylish at the bottom.
I still stand by the skinny jean though and you’ll be needing them in the winter for your boots/booties. I’m still crushing on this pair of butter jeggings I told y’all about a while back!
I know I talk about size quite a bit, but it’s because I had to learn to love and style my mid-sized body in my later 20s and finally finding a pair of jeans that doesn’t make me cringe is HUGE!
Food
Speaking of size and loving our body- y’all know that I am living my best life when I am able to cook. Recently, my favorite cookbook writer (chef? Blogger? IDK) came out with a new book all about MEAL PREP. The reason why I’m bringing it up with my fall favorites is that this whole cook book gave me all the fall feels. I don’t know if it’s the inclusion of lots of yummy veggies or casseroles galore, but this cook book got me thrilled for fall. This weekend is grocery weekend so I’ll be prepping something fun! If you have the cookbook, feel free to make a suggestion!
I’m really excited for this new season. Whether its the food the fashion or just the thrill of finding new favorites, its off to a great start. What makes you feel ready for fall? Let me know in the comments below! Happy Tuesday, lovelies!
I’ve been ready for the weekend since Tuesday! Isn’t it crazy how shorter weeks are sometimes the longest? My sister and sister-in-law have birthdays this weekend, so I’ve had a lot to look forward to this weekend! We also got hit with a TINY cool front, which gets me pumped for the fall season. I’ve been trying to build up my fall wardrobe piece by piece and I started with 1 fall dress and decided to style it up 3 different ways! Continue Reading“1 Fall Dress, 3 ways”
Happy Hump day! I think the lack of social activities has made me eager for a change in season. For the first time in like- ever, I am ready for fall. I mean. I love the “-ber” months; I love a good pumpkin spice latte, and if there were leaves on the ground I would love to “crunch, crunch, crunch” right through them as I walk down the road! However, if you’ve looked up or live near Pharr, Texas you know: there are no leaves, it’s only cool in the evenings, and you better get your coffee iced! REGARDLESS of Fall being my fourth favorite season, it’s still a favorite. Over the years, I’ve come to conclusion that the best way for me to enjoy fall fashion is by rocking a blazer with some cute skinnies! I decided to wrangle up my favorite colors/type of blazers for y’all to get some inspo! Continue Reading“Blazers for Fall and the Perfect Jeans to Wear them With”
