Oh look- another blog post about work from home life! Ha! If it seems like working from home has taken over my life- it has. It took me a while to get myself set up in my less than impressive home office. I’ve posted about it before on the gram, but I’ve never gone into true detail about what it is I put into creating a functional office space. That’s why I figured this brief post about what I have added and accumulated to make my office space a comfortable space that I want to be in for 8 hours a day would be pretty helpful!
The first thing I purchased was my desk (similar…in PINK). This sat in the corner of our master bedroom collecting dust for a while. It was also facing the wall, which was kind of depressing. Something as simple as moving my desk to face the window made me enjoy my space so much more. I love being able to look out the window and absorb the sunlight or the rainfall. Right now, especially, it’s nice to know what’s going on outside in the real world- and see when the mailman delivers my latest goodies! I also searched and searched and searched my local tjmaxx and home goods for a chair that had gold hardware and finally found the one in the picture! Here’s the one I was thinking of buying at the time.
Something that has been KEY to me being able to sit and enjoy my work day is my laptop stand. I’ve shared it before, but I HAVE TO re-emphasize how important this is. Tech neck is real (the pain you feel from looking down at your computer) and this helps alleviate that. If you have a regular desktop, you may also want to get a little stand to make sure you’re not slumping into your shoulders when you look at your computer.
Earlier this month, I shared my love for this little office tools bag. Building a functional office can get pretty expensive, so this set helped me get all of the tools I needed for UNDER $10! The only other separate tool that I picked up was a full-size hole puncher because I had a lot of binders to re-make to fill my needs for the rest of the school year. I spoiled myself just a little bit and got a white hole punch that matched my desk- I’m not mad and it was worth it!
I said earlier that it was important to make my desk space comfortable and that doesn’t necessarily come from office supplies. My days are pretty long and consist of a lot of talking (either during speech teletherapy or talking to parents), so I’ve been using my yeti to keep my coffee nice and hot! I also keep a blanket (a nice and neutral one) thrown on the back of my chair so I can cuddle up when it gets a little chilly. I also keep a little fan I bought at dollar tree on my desk in case the exact opposite happens. Haha- I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…I don’t like to struggle.
I know this post is pretty brief, but I figured there were a few people interested in what I did to put my small office space together! I’ve linked a couple of extras that I’ve been crushing on for y’all to shop as well! I’ve really enjoyed working here these past TWO MONTHS, so if you haven’t made your office space a place you love, I hope this post gives you some inspo!
