August & September Favorites

Yesterday, while listening one of my favorite podcasts, I realized that it had been a while since I shared some monthly favorites with y’all! I decided that this would be the perfect way to close out the week! These past two months have been crazy busy with work, birthdays, and trying to get back into the swing of things. Things have leveled out a little, but I’m sure it’ll get pretty exciting again in the next few weeks! Either way, here are things I’ve been loving and obsessing over lately!

What I’m Reading (again): Skinny Taste One & Done Cookbook

I added my first cooking post on insta in August! I was so scared, but apparently y’all love food as much as I do, so let’s not miss out on a great thing! This is isn’t necessarily a new favorite for me, but I have busted it out again recently and remember why I love it so much. From this cook book, I’ve gotten that tomato tortellini soup of amazing-ness, a fantastic chicken chili and even a few simple stir fries. I love that it takes the work out of finding healthy replacements for ingredients. All of the ingredients are pretty normal (no obscure plants that can only be found in health food stores, here!) and the main focus of this cook book is that you can set these meals up and they’ll be ready in about 20-minutes after being left in your slow cooker, air fryer, and/or instant pot. It’s a win for me. Other wins are the original Skinny Taste Cook Book & Chrissy Teigen’s Cookbook (We’ll talk about this one again come Thanksgiving)!

What I’m Listening To: Lauren Conrad: Asking for a Friend

Y’all know my go-to podcast is usually The Skinny Confidential Podcast, (Sidebar: Lauryn & Michael are expecting their first baby and I AM THRILLED!) but recently I started listening to Lauren Conrad’s podcast. She interviews parenting experts, beauty experts, and we even get a glimpse into what life really was like for her as “LC” of Laguna Beach and The Hills.  If those two things don’t give you that good nostalgic feeling, you were probably born after the year 2000. Amiright?

Where I’m Shopping: The Style Union & Red Dress Boutique

I made a little promise to myself this month. I wanted to expand my shopping experience a little more than usual. I love Nordstrom, I love Target, and I love Kendra Scott. I like consistency and that’s the truth. I promised myself that I wouldn’t only shop at the same stores. So this month, I FINALLY made it out to our RGV Boutique: The Style Union. I have online window-shopped this store MANY times and never actually went for it because I am so lazy and never wanted to make the trip out to North McAllen. Am the laziest, I know. Now, I’m in trouble because I AM as OBSESSED as I knew I would be. The pieces chosen for each collection are so trendy, but the girls/owners style them in ways that are office acceptable and fashionable for fun events with friends. I’m going after I get paid for sure and I am TOTALLY prepared for the trouble I am going to get myself into!!! EEek!

Another new little favorite I’d love for you to check out is my friend, Allison of The Stylish Soul ‘s new online boutique: Shop Beaucoup. That’s where I got my “J’ADORE DOGS” shirt y’all loved!

Finally, (geez this is definitely a fashion blog, I’m 3 favorites deep in the shopping department!) my newest favorite was actually born yesterday as I found the cutest Chambray Dress from Red Dress Boutique! Now, I wouldn’t jump the gun and talk about a store BEFORE I have even received the items, BUT I’m impressed. I received a 10% off discount coupon within seconds of signing up for the mailing list, (you know how sites always trick you into doing this and then don’t deliver until a day later and the big sale you were shopping is over…anyone…just me? Oh. Kay.) and within an hour or so my clothes had SHIPPED! WHAT IS THIS? AMAZON?! HAHA! I also convinced myself to try After Pay for the first time. I have to admit that I was a little nervous, but it seems to be pretty fair and safe. I paid $12 today and will pay another $12 in two weeks until my account is paid! Not bad! I’ll keep you updated if my opinion changes!

…to wear with this dress and this hat as soon as I possibly can!!

I think these are the majority of my favorites at this point of the month! I did a double month because some of this stuff I figured out in August and some of it was from September.
