As fast-paced as our world is, it can be so easy to overlook the wonderful things that are right under our noses. I’m not talking about something on our phones or feeds though. I’m talking about moments. Last week was a busy one. My husband, Miguel, and I don’t always work the same schedule, but we did this Friday. When I got home, all I wanted to do was lay down and sleep, but I knew that my time with him that evening, that moment, wasn’t one I would ever get back. So, I got it together and we headed to Maddie’s Pumpkin Patch.
I’m a low-key perfectionist. Low-key because I’m also impatient. Those two qualities don’t exactly jive, haha. I had been planning a perfect fall shoot at this very pumpkin patch, but as every Valley-girl knows, Fall weather in our great state of Texas is unpredictable! So, it never happened. So, I took this little moment, and made the most of it.
In the short time I was at the pumpkin patch, I laughed and joked with my husband, I gave Emilia the Bulldog a goooood belly rub, went for a hay ride, and looked at farm animals with our niece (our goat imitations, are pretty great)!! Had I allowed for the overwhelming moments to overcome me, I would’ve missed so many little things. How many times do I let that happen?! How many times have you let that happen? If your answer is any sort of “yes” or “sometimes” then my challenge to you is to not overlook the little things! Don’t overlook the moments that you may never get back. I totally get the irony that this post is coming to you on a website or your feed, haha. I really do hope that it inspires you to take a moment, or push through one to make the most of a moment ahead!
